No trip to Hamburg is complete without a visit to the city’s old warehouse district, the Speicherstadt, and the popular harbour promenade, the Landungsbrücken. The best and most popular way to explore the city is by boat or a ferry so you can truly admire the stunning architecture and the city’s waterways.
The impressive City Hall and the popular St. Michaelis church will awe any visitor and music fans should seek out the Indra and the Star Club, where the Beatles played between 1960 and 1962. Hamburg is famous for its local dishes, the Birnen, Bohnen and Speck, the Aalsuppe and the open-faced sandwiches with cold-smoked or pickled fish. The laid-back cafés of Schanze neighbourhood and barbecues on a beach along the Elbe River are great ways to relax after heavy sightseeing.

Well worth a visit if you have never been. A lot more culture and museums than one might expect. Obviously a mecca for stag do's but there is so much more to this place. Great food and drink and a very cosmopolitain city. Downsides , there are loads of rough sleepers, look out for beggers but use common sense and you should be ok.

There was very, very little that I found in Hamburg that was not excellent. The transport system is very good. The city has many interesting areas and is well-kept. I found the people to be very open and friendly.

Hamburg captivated me with its enchanting blend of history, culture, and modernity. Exploring its charming neighborhoods, vibrant waterfront, and iconic landmarks was a delightful experience. The festive atmosphere during December, with its enchanting Christmas markets and dazzling lights, added an extra layer of magic to my stay. The city's efficient public transportation system made it easy to navigate, allowing me to immerse myself fully in its rich tapestry of sights and experiences. Overall, my five days in Hamburg were filled with unforgettable moments and left me eager to return.

It was raining all the time I was there which was fine.
It was raining all the time I was there which was fine. I found it very strange how almost nothing was open on a Sunday, seemingly not even restaurants or small food shops. There is a lot to see by walking around and I walked around the whole lakes area which was great. I walked everywhere but I understand you can get underground too, if you're not pushed for time, may as well walk. Very easy getting the train to the airport from the centre, every 10 mins I think and at just under €4, not bad! Don't ruke out the dock area to walk around by where the boats go for the day trips, some nice buildings down there.

Germany's second-largest city and gates to the World, boasts...
Germany's second-largest city and gates to the World, boasts a rich maritime heritage and vibrant cultural scene. We had plenty of fun exploring the enchanting historic Speicherstadt, the largest warehouse district in the world. Don't miss the iconic Elbphilharmonie to catch a breathtaking sunset (if you're lucky enough).Visiting the Sunday Fischmarkt is a must.
The central part of the city is beautiful. The infamous Reeperbahn is rather dirty and cringy but it's still an important part of the city image.
Strolling the Beatles-related places is mandatory.
I had a spacious room full of light in a cosy and quiet area. The hotel is only a 6-minute walk to metro and then about ten minutes to Hamburg centre, railway station, most big museums etc. You can also walk to town along the canal, it's a half an hour walk to Alster lake. Nice brekfast/lunch cafe a few minutes from the hotel, Albatros. A supermarket next door. Half an hour walk or a quick taxi to one of the best theatre & music venues in Europe, Kampnagel. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
The hotel is conveniently located near the main railway station (Hamburg Hauptbahnhof), only in 3 minutes on foot. Nearby lots of cafés and restaurants, shops, malls etc. In a 5-minute walk, you can observe amazing Alster Lake.
The hotel is pretty small, but rooms are clean and furnished. Nice breakfast with typical European (Germany) food buns, eggs (scrambled, boiled), sausages, cheese, musli, tomatoes, cucumbers, and tinned fruit, coffee, tea, juices.
Simply everything. Location, interior, facilities, kind staff, the size of the room, Gatsby-like decorations, I loved everything about it. Furthermore, the underground is right in front of the hotel and there is a pharmacy store and a market nearby. Finally its very close to the attractions/popular streets of the city. I would definitely stay again If I happen to be in Hamburg.
Huge hotel (popular European chain) in a nice neighborhood near Hamburg central train station (Hbf). Location is great with several U-bahn stops nearby (one right next to hotel), that will zip you anywhere in the city; tons of good eateries nearby.
Rooms are rather small, but surprisingly stylish. Air con a bonus in hot weather. Friendly staff, very good breakfast.
Good hotel for Christmas markets. 20 minute walk to centre of Hamburg. Car park on site. Rooms all ok. Breakfast as expected - 5 minute queue, but well organised.
There was an issue with the air con in the room which we mentioned at check out. Without asking, by way of an apology, they did not charge us for the car park, which was great customer service.
The room was really clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice. Location is fairly good, with easy access to public transport and a quick and easy ride into the centre of Hamburg. Midday check-out was very helpful. Staff were friendly but we had an overbooking and double-charging issue as described below...
This stylish, comfortable, boutique hotel affords easy access to shops, restaurants, and walking paths around Lake Alster. The staff was friendly and professional, breakfast was delicious, and the room was first rate. We very much enjoyed sipping our wine and taking in the views from our balcony.
Large modern hotel in a great location with friendly staff that speak English.. Family room was a good size and breakfast was excellent with a large selection. Hotel is right next to escalator down to HafenCity U4 U-Bahn station which gives quick and cheap access to all parts of Hamburg.
Awesome hotel next to Hamburg Airport with good connections to the center via public transport.
Three star hotel with good facilities and comfy rooms. I enjoyed the German-style breakfast buffet with bread and cold cuts. Worth the money! Cheap and excellent quality. Friendly staff too!
Nicely presented hotel in an excellent location for tourists. Right by the Station and Inner Alster with the Europa Passage shopping centre just up the road and the Hamburg Art gallery just over the street. Kettle and fridge in the room. Good shower. Nice warm bathrobe.
Fantastic hotel is a great location! The old warehouses of Hamburg are a veritable feast of bars, restaurants, cafe's and museum's. Then a short walk over one of the many bridges, and you're quickly in Hamburg's main centre.
Lovely hotel bar too!
The hotel is perfectly situated in Altona, a center area in Hamburg, with many facilities around it and perfect access to all city transportation.
Rooms are clean and modern styled and relatively comfortable.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
Lovely old school building tastefully and thoughtfully renovated into hotel. Echoes of its past in some unobtrusive corners . : )
Great location too, nearby 2 x U bahn stops. V handy to reach Hamburg city centre yet slightly out so quieter.
It is a nice and cosy hotel, located in St Pauli neighborhood close to Hamburg city centre. Check in, check out and the other procedures are done by the guest himself.
It is clean, warm and quiet. Furniture is new, but very basic.
A very nice small boutique hotel. We absolutely loved the small terraces that the rooms have. The rooms can only be described as huge, and airy. Many, many windows, and each can be opened to let the fresh air in.
the hotel was really nice staff was super friendly the hotel was clean quiet and very peaceful the location was really nice very close to the city centre and so close to the metro station
